SOS! Not sure what to do? Not a lot of articles on how to care for BDFB due to their nature. Im really hoping someone can enlighten me. This seem to be outside of the typical behavior my BDFB displays.
Story the Story of StickSun (our beetle)
My son was checking on StickSun before bed Thursday night. We went to bed it didn’t cross my mind to check however he may have accidentally placed the leave back into the enclosure in-correctly causing for our beetle to escape. Long story short Friday morning I would say around 10:00 am.
I found her on the floor in the restroom I couldn’t believe it bc this meant she fell. When she was spotted she was ramming into the wall. Once I start to approach she stopped and I picked her up she had some attention and I placing her back in her enclosure. However around 8 I had passed by her enclosure where she was on her back kinda twitching the first thing that came to mind is she possibly got into poison. I started immediate care aid by cleaning the mouth with a-tip and then manual water feeding. Still showing signs of life.
Saturday morning I reached out to the vendor who sold me the beetle for advice absolutely no help honestly P me off. Anywho continued aid small amount of amber fluid came out when administering water.. once again cleaned mouth and feed bell pepper. When for run and came back to the bell pepper nipped at. Got some antenna action since she’s been like this not whole lot of it anymore. Still signs of life and blue coloration.
Come around the night Saturday I noticed dubbing head back and forth within shell with pulse at end of body came off as it may have been trying to push something out so I put olive oil on q-tip to help pass whatever was causing this. A little small white fluid, egg or waste came out reminded me of a blackhead for Visual purposes. Sunday small movement not in same place however still in same position it is now Monday morning about to be 3:00 am still signs of life but in same position is there any hope that my little friend will recover?!
